The future of my Patreon

Patreon’s been bugging me to post more. But I couldn’t, because I was working on a secret project!

First things first — The Phoenix and His Prince is almost here! I hope you all enjoy it. Rai and I are super proud of it. This follows Elric’s road to… if not redemption, at least the beginnings of getting to be less of a terrible villain than he was in The Dragon and His Prince.

Now, it’s no secret Rai and I have been doing a lot of join projects lately. I’ve felt guilty about potentially raking in Patreon profits on our shared labor. One option was to rebrand this patreon as both of ours, but… well, there’s one problem.

Patreon isn’t kind to creators of dark content. Flat out, it doesn’t want us here. I’ve been skirting the edge of what’s allowed, and every time I hear about another creator getting booted for writing or drawing completely fictional content (while real life CSEM adjacent content somehow gets a pass) I worry.

Patreon isn’t kind to creators in general. The site is great and offers some benefits in terms of automation, but they also take 8% in fees–12% if I wanted to have an actual team working on the page, as would make the most sense if this was rebranded as a joint Patreon.

What’s the alternative?

Rai and I have been working hard this past month to launch our own creator page: The Wolf & Phoenix . This will work similar to Patreon, with a $5/month subscription tier for you to keep up with our mm works (or our het works, or $9 for the bundle of both).

By signing up, you would get access to:

  • Our current WIP (for MM, that’s The Shade and His Thief)
  • extra short stories
  • Early access to any future smashwords erotica
  • In the future, surveys about what content to focus on
  • In time, all the stories I have posted exclusively on Patreon right now will be moved to wolfandphoenix.com

I know this is a change, and I understand that some of you will be hesitant. For those of you who choose to follow me, you can use the coupon code “PATR” for 25% off the first month. This code is valid until the end of February, so you have time to decide. I will be shutting everything down in March.

I thank all of you for understanding, and I do hope some of you follow me to my new home.
